In our new town, Sowerby Bridge

We have been renting a converted mill in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, for almost one month now.

This is Carlton Mill, part of our mill complex. Our mill dates from 1792 and was one of the first woollen/textile mills in Yorkshire. The Halifax canoe club is also housed here, as we are right next to the River Calder.

The town is pretty small, with a main street running alongside the Calder and Hebble Navigation (Rochdale canal). You can see the big chimney in the background, which is our mill complex.

Here is the bottom of the main street near Sowerby Bridge station. The main road is really busy with traffic.

Many more beautiful pictures can be found at:

There is a huge group of geese and ducks who live under the bridge near our flat. My kids love them!!
