The Rushbearing Festival, Sowerby Bridge, September 2011

Here are some pictures from the Rushbearing Festival, in Sowerby Bridge. It's a traditional festival which celebrates the changing of the rushes on the floors of churches, a few hundred years ago. Today there are no rushes on the floors of churches, but the festival still carries on in parts of England.
